the International Song Contest representing TUNISIA!...The Festival
will be held from Sept. 6-10 in Yalta (Crimea, Ukraine) with contestants
and performers from around the Globe.

The blazing heart of Orient

Nader is a bright performer coming from an unusual
Arab land. His appearing onstage is like a star flaring up and causing
not only floods of love but surprise as well. His rich and free voice,
modest charm and shy character that just do not go in line with his
stage image and passionate performance, bring forth before the viewer
the pictures of ancient frescos combined with the hectic tempo of the
present life of the country that he represents.

Tunis is an original mix of historical and cultural
events and traditions that have come down from the civilizations long
gone. It used to be the heart of the Carthage State – the most terrible
of Ancient Rome’s rivals. In Medieval Ages, Tunis was targeted by
crusaders, and later for over 70 years until 1956, the country was a
French colony. Today, Tunis is a modern state, and perhaps the only
country in the Arab world where women enjoy true equality with men.

If you look at its map, Tunis’s territory reminds you
of a bird’s wing. Its nature is stunning: colonies of white and pink
flamingoes live in the bays along the coast, and the frolicking dolphins
are frequent guests in the coastal waters. The Mediterranean coastline
flora is impressive in its beauty and diversity: hibiscus, dog rose, and
the country’s symbol – jasmine; and poppy flowers are in bloom in the
summertime. Tunis’s oases are renowned for picturesque olive and date
palm plantations.

Nader grew up in the coast town of Sus. As a
schoolboy, he partook in organizing musical plays and rigs; he indulged
not only in music, but sports as well, trying his hand at martial arts,
football and tennis.

He established his first band “Hypnose” at 15 and was
a vocalist in it. Some years later he joined another band,
“Introspection”. Having left the school, he got enrolled with the
Economics department of the IHEC Business School in his hometown,
planning to one day run his family business; however, an event changed
his plans. When, as a freshman, he happened to be in a Tunis hotel that
hosted a casting for the participation in the Starac 2008 project, he
passed the selection process with flying colors. Later that same year
Nader was nominated for the MEMA Best Starting Dancer Award – a musical
award in the Middle East that is granted annually in recognition of
outstanding achievement in the field of music by a popular Tunis radio
station Jawhara FM for the best song of the year based on the results of
the nationwide online vote.

In 2009, Nader became the first winner of a hugely
popular show Arab Star Academy, having received the award for performing
in his native language. And the performer’s arsenal encompasses songs
in English, French, Italian, Spanish, and Arabic. At present, the singer
is involved in a couple of projects, is recording his first album, and
is preparing to play the main role in the Tunisian thriller titled The Treasure which is to debut on the silver screen.

“Live concerts, however, are my favorite part of the
entire business, Nader says. – For me, it is the best place to be at; I
adore the stage, I become a different person when I get up there. I sort
of transform, I am embraced by this whirlwind and something starts
blooming within me – I receive the energy from the audience; and this is
an invigorating experience. Being onstage is the most rewarding part of
my creative life.”
